Baltimore receives L'Hermione and General Lafayette
Here Comes Lafayette!
June 19, 20, & 21, 2015
L'Hermione and the Marquis de Lafayette will be landing at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore and the Fixed Regiment of Spanish Louisiana and El Dragón will be on the pier to greet the General and his ship.
If you miss the Annapolis docking, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to part of this landing and to see and visit this amazing historic ship.
Baltimore is planning a large party dockside in the Inner Harbor to mark this auspicious occasion. Exhibits, activities, and entertainment in the Inner Harbor will be ongoing throughout the weekend. The Fixed Regiment of Spanish Louisiana will be camped directly in front of the Baltimore Visitors Center in the Inner Harbor just steps away from L'Hermione. We are hoping to be joined by a few Regiment de Gatinois and 1st Delaware Regiment members.
The event will commence with a welcoming ceremony with French and American officials, including the Baltimore City Mayor, dockside at 9AM on Friday, June 19, 2015. Regiment members need to be at the Baltimore Visitor Center camp site no later than 8AM on Friday, June 19th.
Parking will be available at the Civil War Museum located at 601 S President St, Baltimore, MD 21202. The museum is about a 10 minute walk from the site.
